TAKEAWAYS:
CAROLINE: Reporting on biking culture in Bologna was a magical experience. I discovered that beneath the surface of sustaining biking culture in Bologna lie challenges with legislature, space democracy and infrastructure. I learned that biking is much more than a means of transportation for Italians. It is also a medium for creating a sense of belonging ,and fostering important ties between the city and its people. I am grateful to have had a taste of that.
SOPHIA: We learned more about ideals and culture of the Bolognese, and grew more connected to the city and its people. Cities around the world face transportation issues. This story captures all the main components surrounding that issue: legislature, safety, economics, infrastructure and culture.
