TAKEAWAY: Being able to report on the Irish language community was one of my proudest journalism moments. Meeting the people and organizations that have created a community to save the language was fascinating. My Irish heritage has always been important to me, but after this trip, I now have a deeper connection to my ancestry, which I will always appreciate.
