Before this project, I had never filmed anything, and I had barely touched editing software. But the kind librarians at the Hickory Corner library branch were eager to be interviewed — in fact, it seemed as though every librarian there was glad someone was talking about the recent wave of book bannings. Shining light on important issues like this is the reason I chose to pursue journalism, and I'll always reflect this value in anything I write.
