Takeaway:
Through my research I came across a lot of women who met similar challenges in deciding whether to wear hijab. This project enabled me to share my story, and to share the views of so many other Muslim women, whose voices are often overshadowed by their portrayals in the media. Through this piece I learned to communicate personal experiences, and to connect them to similar experiences others were having. I believe the best journalists are storytellers whose stories reach and move others, regardless of their own race, religion, or culture.
