Takeaway:
As I reported this story, the notion of how precious and short our lives can be was always present. Death is never easy, and rarely planned, but my subject handled everything that was thrown at her with grace. I was in awe of her dedication, not only to obstacle course racing, but to celebrating the memory of her mom.
